bau's co-founder and former member Chris Albert organized this exciting exchange show with Denver artists. Former bau members Kathy Feighery, Peter Iannarelli, Gary O'Connor and current bau members Vivian Altman and Harald Plochberger represent along with other artists our Beacon artists' community in the Denver exhibit.

Spire Studios in Beacon to host "Change of Altitude: An exhibit of artists from EDGE Gallery in Denver, CO." June 23 - July 16.
Spire Studios in Beacon will be exhibiting the work of a group of Denver based artists as one half of an exchange between artists of Beacon, NY and Denver, CO. The Denver artists are all members of EDGE Gallery, an artist run contemporary gallery that has been a staple of the Denver art scene for 20 years. The artwork of the Beacon artists working under the name Via Beacon will be on exhibit EDGE Gallery. Both groups are working within the constraints of artwork that will compress to fit into a standard Postal Service flat rate box and then expand when installed in the gallery.
The concurrent Denver-Beacon exhibits will open on June 23 and run through July 16. The exhibit at Spire Studios will open with a reception starting at 7pm on June 23. Hours for the exhibit will by Sat, Sun 12-6pm and by appointment.

TONY MOORE: WHO KNOWS WHY?

In Tony Moore’s latest sculpture installation, a provocative assemblage of approximately 150 clay body casts of his own head, we are treated to an experience of tremendous power and relevance for our times. Moore has ingeniously placed a number of these “heads” on the floor, covering the entire gallery, while the preponderance of the casts are vertically stacked in 6 steel cages, as a monolith in the center of the room. The walls have been left blank.
